Drivers of Radicalisation

This report commissioned by DFID aims to investigate what drives men to join groups such as the Taliban and the Hizb-iIslami. The focus in this study is on why men join armed groups that present themselves as religiously motivated, and how much support there is for this from their wider communities. The study challenges commonly help perceptions of the radicalization process, addresses attitudes towards ISAF and the Afghan Government, and asked respondents what needs to happen to bring security to Afghanistan.
